One of eighteen Fifth Growth estates, Chateau Pontet-Canet is located in the northern end of the Pauillac appellation, and has one of the largest production volumes in the region. The vineyards date to the early 18th century, and are planted on extremely gravelly, well-draining soil, typical of the best vineyards in Bordeaux. Drink Dates 2018-2030

Very dark, full of blackberry and cassis. Dense tannin structure needs time to mellow. Built to last.
