Semi-opaque ruby red, consistent core to rim. On the nose it reminds me of a good vintage of Northern Rhone Syrah, smoked meats and blood sausage, ripe blackberry fruit, a hint of lavender mixed in with wet straw. Medium body, medium+ acidity, medium- tannin. A funky style of Pomerol yet most Interesting. Literally the stink of this wine is fighting its fruit almost like there is brettanomyces present as a fault but I quite like it

Needs more time. At first it was flabby and all fruit. After 2 hours the wine began to take on body and open more expressively into a better balanced wine. The tannins are ripe and clenching at this age, another 2-3 years should mellow this out nicely.
Color: Classic claret, dark red core with velvety red edges
Nose: Red and blue fruits, flowers, cedar, and plum
Palate: The fruit is apparent initially, very apparent. The acidity is clean, with ripe but tight tannins. The fruit is all plum, cherry, and some currants. Some tobacco and minerality peak through as well. The finish is clipped, keeping this from getting from the good to very good section in my opinion.
