Making "big reds" has been Larry Turley's passion since giving up his co-ownership of Frog's Leap Winery in 1993. Turley Wine Cellars is run by Larry and his wife Suzanne. Very dark, almost purple. Nose had dark cherries/berries with a hint of vanilla and alcohol. Finish and mouth feel were smooth. 30 second finish. 17/20

Disappointing fruit and finish. Surprised at the lack of complexity. We are big Turley fans but this wine was wanting.

A flawed bottle may be affected by cork taint, heat (maderized), oxidation, or excessive sulfur. Additionally, some people consider wines tainted by Brettanomyces (Brett), a non-spore forming genus of yeast, a flaw although there is much controversy surrounding the subject.
