A light graphite and dark fruit with currants. Great after 1 hour in the decanter. Has a slight tobacco finish and cherry on the end of the nose

This was austere and too acidic with drying tannins. Really stingy fruit. The 2007 vintage in Napa was heralded as one of the best on record. "Textbook" is what Wine Spectator called it. How this once-great producer could have messed up this wine is beyond me.

A light graphite and dark fruit with currants. Great after 1 hour in the decanter. Has a slight tobacco finish and cherry on the end of the nose. Unfortunately the 2007 California Cabs will not hold more then 10 years.

Strong tannic wine which masks the underlying fruit. Contains some nice pepper spice and vanilla, but overall at this point the tannins overpower the wine. Likely will improve in several years, but given the other offerings from this vintage, one can easily find a better "bang for the buck."

Wine was more medium than full bodied, lighter than I've come to expect from Napa Cabs, especially the 07 vintage. Has an herbal quality up front, but almost no finish to speak of. Nothing entirely objectionable, but i really wanted more out of it. Decanted an hour before drinking.

I thought WS was a little too hard on this wine. Interesting flavors and pleasant to drink.

A flawed bottle may be affected by cork taint, heat (maderized), oxidation, or excessive sulfur. Additionally, some people consider wines tainted by Brettanomyces (Brett), a non-spore forming genus of yeast, a flaw although there is much controversy surrounding the subject.
