Peter Rosback and David O'Reilly began Sineann in 1998 after working together at Elk Cove Winery. Rosback had decided to volunteer at Elk Cove on his off days to broaden his home-winemaking experience. A flawed bottle may be affected by cork taint, heat (maderized), oxidation, or excessive sulfur. Additionally, some people consider wines tainted by Brettanomyces (Brett), a non-spore forming genus of yeast, a flaw although there is much controversy surrounding the subject.
