Lives up to the hype about the 2007 Rhone Valley vintage. Barely two years old, this red, from a humble appellation, is already singing. Ripe, round grenache and syrah fruit perfectly balanced by acidity and just enough tannin for grip. A hint of white pepper on the very long finish. Drinks well above its price point - should age well. Can't wait to try more 2007 Rhone reds.

Nose: Heavy dark berries with fresh leather notes.
Body: Mellon cassis flavors, slight tartness is pervasive...witnessed as a lemon zest, but rise of tobacco on a decent finish.
A flawed bottle may be affected by cork taint, heat (maderized), oxidation, or excessive sulfur. Additionally, some people consider wines tainted by Brettanomyces (Brett), a non-spore forming genus of yeast, a flaw although there is much controversy surrounding the subject.
