The estate of Maximin Grunhaus is one of the great estates of the Mosel-Saar-Ruwer. Carl Schubert's great great grandfather bought the estate in 1882, and it is wholly-owned by the family. Quintessential Ruwer Riesling! With aromas of pink grapefruit and lemon zest this beautiful Spätlese delights the senses. It has fantastic minerality and just a hint of tropical fruit and is incredibly balanced and approachable due in part to its exceptionally long growing period.

Same as prior notes - really terrific and will keep. These Rieslings can be great with years of age. Slightly better than I remember the last bottle.

Clear golden yellow core with little rim variation. Clean aromas of honeysuckle, citrus and steely mineral. Off-sweet palate of honeyed citrus almost syrupy. Medium bodied, medium acid with tight finish. I suppose a good showing for the style, but I'm not a fan of the residual sugar in QmP spatlese Riesling so hard for me to say.

Nose of tropical fruit, honey, and flowers. Well balanced with a slight hint of botrytis. Finish moderate with sleek lingering after taste.
