Heidi Barrett reached legendary status when she was making Dalla Valle and Screaming Eagle in the 1900s. She has since gone on to consult for several other small estates in the Valley, including Barbour, Paradigm and Revana. A flawed bottle may be affected by cork taint, heat (maderized), oxidation, or excessive sulfur. Additionally, some people consider wines tainted by Brettanomyces (Brett), a non-spore forming genus of yeast, a flaw although there is much controversy surrounding the subject.
