Opened, tasted and I had to put it down for 45 minutes. You feel every bit of that 17.5% abv! Was light to medium bodied and thus thought it would be a good match for the meal but this unfiltered wine was chewy, but behind it was the expression of sundried Monica grapes lots of cherries and dust, licorice. Shut down this wasn't. Not a wine for newbies yet the funkiness of it makes you chuckle to yourself and raise your glass to Alessandro Dettori.
Day 2: the fizzy character subsided in large but the wine just keeps going on and on. It's almost syrupy and port-esque. Maybe this was better with cheese? Either way enjoyable in a very quirky way.
