A relatively high-toned nose of red raspberry and cranberry with an herbal hint gives way to delicious, detailed and nicely balanced middle weight flavors that possess fine if not outstanding depth and length. Lovely and understated.

($46) Hazy medium red. Deep cherry and dark berries on the nose. Juicy, sweet and precise, offering vivid cherry and blackberry flavors and a slow-building note of smoky minerals. Impressively deep and pure, with dusty tannins adding grip to the long, smoky finish. This one should be stashed away for a while.

Tasted On 12/22/2009

Definitely needs more time - was good 2nd night, didn't decant will wait another 6-12 months to open next bottle - tannins will still be there, hopefully the fruit will be more expressive by then.

I found this useful: Yes | No

A flawed bottle may be affected by cork taint, heat (maderized), oxidation, or excessive sulfur. Additionally, some people consider wines tainted by Brettanomyces (Brett), a non-spore forming genus of yeast, a flaw although there is much controversy surrounding the subject.
