1 1/2 hours decant - WOW - don't think about drinking this without decant. Extremely deep flavor profile - a sweet component to the flavor. I understand the comparison to Pinot. Still no heat or tannin - seems very well integrated. 3 hour decant - ready - full nose - full flavor depth - huge finish. This is a wine you can get drunk on FAST - extremely drinkable. With full decant drinkable now - certainly can hold for 2-4 years at least.

Some black licorice on the nose, very soft and plush, no overt tannins but plenty of flavor still. Tasted at 2007 Napa cab retrospective and this was my favorite of the night

The 2007 Altamura presented a deep crimson color in the crystal glass. The nose was elegant and complex with tones of dark fruit, spice, oak and a hint of leather. A gentle swirl produced legs that hung ever so gently to the sides of the glass for minutes. The palate was soft, almost velvet-like. The rich, round and balanced flavors filled the mouth. The fruit had a light sweetness that complimented the tannins. Absolutely delicious after dinner. Drank like a $100 bottle of Cabernet.

This wine is aging nicely. Similar notes as last time except this bottle was consumed in the same day. I let the bottle sit open for about 3 hours and it was outstanding.

A well made wine. Nose of blackberries and blueberries. Full bodied and very well balanced with moderate acidity and silky tannins. Great finish. Needs to be decanted for two hours.
