USA - California - Sonoma - Knights Valley

White Chardonnay
Producer Notes

Peter Michael's estate vineyards (founded in 1982) are what make his wines truly exceptional. There is something about this wine that just blows me away. I think it may be my absolute favorite white wine. Bright gold color with a greenish hue. Extremely comnplex, deep, full bodied and long. Bouquet of melons, tropical fruit, very distinct note of slightly burnt popcorn. Flavors of tropical fruit and white currants. Perfect acidity and body. The flavors seem to change from from the moment you take a sip through the mid- palate and into the finish over the course of 30 or so seconds. My score may be a little high compared to a professionals tasting notes, but I just can't say enough good things about this wine and it is virtually perfect for my palate.

What a beautiful, elegant, perfectly proportioned wine. One of the best Peter Michael chardonnays I have ever tasted from the remarkable 2007 vintage. (And I've tried virtually every Peter Michael chardonnay produced in the last decade.) Fabulous with food and delicious on its own.

A flawed bottle may be affected by cork taint, heat (maderized), oxidation, or excessive sulfur. Additionally, some people consider wines tainted by Brettanomyces (Brett), a non-spore forming genus of yeast, a flaw although there is much controversy surrounding the subject.
