Fruit forward. Cranberry, dry cherry and cloves on mid-palate. Milk chocolate and cinnamon on back end. Soft Bordeaux-like wine. Pairs well with blue cheese (and steak too).

2007 a vintage that infuses all Napa Cabernets with more than the typical fruit charm, a more careless, 'What the hell, let's drink it now!â? approach. When 2007 meets a classic like Freemark Abbey, all are sure to be pleased ' especially at this modest price. This 79% Cabernet Sauvignon, 15% Merlot. 4% Petit Verdot, 1% Cabernet Franc, and 1% Malbec shows 'Napa Cab Classicismâ? with scents of cedar and sweet black olives, plus generosity with the sense of fresh blackberries. The mouth is solid and balanced, with a great mineral feel that gratifies without wearying the palate. Here is Cabernet with a medium body, the ability to age and develop like a good Rioja or Bordeaux, and the charm of a fruit-forward vintage.

A flawed bottle may be affected by cork taint, heat (maderized), oxidation, or excessive sulfur. Additionally, some people consider wines tainted by Brettanomyces (Brett), a non-spore forming genus of yeast, a flaw although there is much controversy surrounding the subject.
