Garnet and maroon in color. Aromas of strawberry, cherries and a touch of wood. On the palate I get a good burst of dark fruit, oak, rose and pepper. Awesome balance and integration of fruit, oak, tannin and acid. My family loved it with some great wet ribs with a medium minus spice. I have 5-6 more in the cellar and I will be pulling several more before the year is over.
Deep claret and slightly opaque, still young looking. The wine had the expected smells and tastes, blackberries, sour black cherry, warm dried spices, smoke, pepper all on the nose. Plum, smoke, cherry and blackberry on the palate. A strong but medium bodied wine with a slightly sticky texture. This bottle was quite sweet and a little indistinctive, perhaps a touch fat.

I drank my first bottle with left over leg of lamb on 1/24/10. It had a great bouquet of black cherry, blueberry, vanilla, spice and sage aromas. The palate was smooth, well balanced and a touch hot with flavors that follow the nose.
Drank in honor of its WS #10 of 08 win. Nice dark cherry and blackberry, with a bit of carmel and dusty earth. A bit hot on the finish at the moment, but this should mellow with age. A nice zin, in a style that is not over-the-top but still bold.
