Tasted with a 2007 John Anthony Reserve. Virtual tie. Outstanding wine...every sip was an experience.

Very deep dark red color. Really intriguing nose: great fruit and spice notes. Many layers. Good medium to strong tannin and fruit level. Silky smooth, very round on palate. Long finish. $225 on release.

A flawed bottle may be affected by cork taint, heat (maderized), oxidation, or excessive sulfur. Additionally, some people consider wines tainted by Brettanomyces (Brett), a non-spore forming genus of yeast, a flaw although there is much controversy surrounding the subject.
