Ridge Vineyards, known for its stellar reds, began when San Francisco doctor Osea Perrone bought 180 acres of land near the top of Monte Bello Ridge in California's Santa Cruz Mountains. A blend of 79% Cabernet Sauvignon, 10% Merlot, 9% Petit Verdot, and 2% Cabernet Franc. Its dense ruby/purple color is accompanied by attractive aromas of incense, red and black currants, spice, and forest floor.
