Deep purple with layers of licorice and spice. This is a very good wine that had many years left.

Tannin's smooth, but LOTS of alcohol - needs food, does not work a sipping wine.

Full bodied with plum and black currants. But I don't see where WS and ST find the chewy tannins. I am a Ramey fan but found this wine to be lacking in structure and a tad flabby.

A flawed bottle may be affected by cork taint, heat (maderized), oxidation, or excessive sulfur. Additionally, some people consider wines tainted by Brettanomyces (Brett), a non-spore forming genus of yeast, a flaw although there is much controversy surrounding the subject.
