Auction prices are based on actual auction results (inclusive of buyerÂ’s premiums) of 750ml bottle sizes only. As auction prices fluctuate from auction to auction and some wines have limited auction activity, the average auction price is updated twice a month and derived from a proprietary algorithm.

14.1% ABV. Opened and poured through the Vinturi into a decanter. Followed over two and one half hours. Initial nose of rich, rich, dark black cherries and other darker tree fruits. On the palate this wine is smokey with bright black cherry and plum. Tar lines the edges throughout the palate and lingers through the finish. There are lime peel notes from the front palate through the midpalate. This wine is really fruit forward, but not overbearing, there is a brightness that keeps the wine lively. Very approachable now with a decent decant of one half hour+ or hold 1-2 years.

A flawed bottle may be affected by cork taint, heat (maderized), oxidation, or excessive sulfur. Additionally, some people consider wines tainted by Brettanomyces (Brett), a non-spore forming genus of yeast, a flaw although there is much controversy surrounding the subject.
