Fathers Day with friends we ooen a few nice wines. BV 93 - Was slighly brown on edge, flavors were nice, suttle. The Hall 07 Cab was significantly different in flavor. Good color plently of life left in the bottle in caparison. The Phelps 06 merlot was a good in between, had oak and good flavor drinking at it's best right now. We finished with the Pride Cabernet which was the best of all. Everything on par. Very enjoyable.

$66, 5847 cases. 82% Cab, 12% Merlot, 6% PV. Good amount of fruit on nose and some nice spice notes. A bit lean on palate but good fruit level and soft tannin. Medium length finish. Gets better with a bit of time to open up.

A flawed bottle may be affected by cork taint, heat (maderized), oxidation, or excessive sulfur. Additionally, some people consider wines tainted by Brettanomyces (Brett), a non-spore forming genus of yeast, a flaw although there is much controversy surrounding the subject.
