Mount Eden Vineyards is a small historic wine estate located on a 2000-foot peak in the Santa Cruz Mountain Appellation about 15 miles from the Pacific Ocean. Delicious and well balanced. Lower in alcohol (13.8%) than typical California Chardonnay with Burgundian balance. Once a relatively short finish prevents a higher score. At its peak now, but should last for awhile.

A flawed bottle may be affected by cork taint, heat (maderized), oxidation, or excessive sulfur. Additionally, some people consider wines tainted by Brettanomyces (Brett), a non-spore forming genus of yeast, a flaw although there is much controversy surrounding the subject.
