When Paul Hobbs founded his eponymous winery in 1991, he set out to produce small lot, hand-crafted, vineyard designate wines. He began with just three - one Chardonnay, one Pinot Noir and one Cabernet Sauvignon.

Showing great depth of flavor and bold structure, this deep garnet Cabernet Sauvignon is brimming with aromas of cassis and sweet tobacco. The palate is silky and full-bodied, opening with pure, concentrated flavors of dark cherry and black currant. Ripe tannins and notes of cedar with a pleasant finish.

Drink Dates 2006-2012

A good moderately priced Hobbs cab. Dark fruit, cedar, some spice. Well balanced, ripe tannins so it's ready to drink now or could age well for a few more years. A nice easy drinking wine but not near the level of his higher priced offerings.
