Kosta-Browne started its supersonic trek to celebrity status in 1997, when pals Dan Kosta and Michael Browne pooled their restaurant tips and purchased a half ton of Pinot Noir, a manual crusher-de-stemmer and a used barrel. Broad front and mid palette, with good finish. Nice balance of dark red fruits, spice, light oak. Med to full bodied.

A smooth, ripe nose of cherry, blackberry and spice. Over 30 minutes, the palate opened up and showed a very sophisticated core of smooth cherry and currant.

A flawed bottle may be affected by cork taint, heat (maderized), oxidation, or excessive sulfur. Additionally, some people consider wines tainted by Brettanomyces (Brett), a non-spore forming genus of yeast, a flaw although there is much controversy surrounding the subject.
