Gemstone Vineyard is a small, family-owned grape grower and producer of estate wines. Although they makes a small quantity of Chardonnay, their focus is on crafting richly textured red wines from Bordeaux varietals grown on their 16 acre hillside property in the Yountville appellation of Napa Valley. Lush mouthfeel, ripe flavors. Hard to say that this was different than other high-end Napa cabs, though. It will be interesting to see how it is in time when the fruit subsides a bit.

98% CS, 2% PV. Dark ruby red. Nice sweet dark fruit on nose. Really nice fruit on palate and soft mouth feel. Also tannic (needs some more bottle age to mellow, just released today). Nice finish, medium in length.
