This was the most wonderful travesty. Full dinner, Matrot 2002 Blagny La Piece, Fernet to close. THEN the Genevrieres from one of the basking pools at Post Ranch Inn, full moon, dark Pacific below, the air scented of scrub oak and wet grasses. I enjoyed the wine immensely but it was an accessory to experience, not the experience itself. Perhaps as it should be.

A flawed bottle may be affected by cork taint, heat (maderized), oxidation, or excessive sulfur. Additionally, some people consider wines tainted by Brettanomyces (Brett), a non-spore forming genus of yeast, a flaw although there is much controversy surrounding the subject.
