Auction prices are based on actual auction results (inclusive of buyerÂ’s premiums) of 750ml bottle sizes only. As auction prices fluctuate from auction to auction and some wines have limited auction activity, the average auction price is updated twice a month and derived from a proprietary algorithm.

Clear yellow color. Attractive and perfumed nose of tropical mango, pineapple and pear with hints of walnuts and a rock-like minerality. Mouthfeel is silky with a coating essence-like character. Flavors are delicate and not as concentrated as the nose would suggest. Medium acids with a lightly spicy tingle on the tip of the tongue. Finish is refreshing and medium long.

Another fine value from Argiolas is their white Costamolino, a Vermentino from Sardinia that also over-delivers for its trivial tariff & is full of restrained tropical notions that pulse along a lithe, fresh profile. Recent vintages of this cuvee have been as easy a case purchase as any & should satiate a wide variety of adventurous palates. Between the breadth, consistency & value of producers like Argiolas and Falesco, it makes me wonder why more of my smart money isn'tdirected towards Italy?

A flawed bottle may be affected by cork taint, heat (maderized), oxidation, or excessive sulfur. Additionally, some people consider wines tainted by Brettanomyces (Brett), a non-spore forming genus of yeast, a flaw although there is much controversy surrounding the subject.
