Served from a large, wide decanter after 30 minutes of aeration. Fruity, smooth-edged, heavy on the palate, huge bouquet, looong finish of meat juice and caramel. Still quite primary at this point, but beginning to come together. Mercifully, this bottle was only 14.5% ABV. A good example of a Napa Meritage. Would buy again, but hold this vintage until 2017.

big Napa cab, full bodied-- lovely, mellow fruit and toasty notes of leather, chocolate and spices.

Clear, dark ruby. Very aromatic. Eucalyptus, dark berries, cedar. Very well balanced. Medium finish.

Needed a day of air to show its stuff. On first opening it was disjointed and not showing much. But on day 2, a different story. Good amount of red fruits present, with cassis, licorice and spices. Very nice!

Not overly tannic, just disjointed on opening. In this particular case, I poured out about 1/2 a glass, recorked, and then put it back in the cellar. The next day it was rocking!

A day of aeration? Really? Was it really that tannic? This wine is made to drink immediately - pop and pour.

Christmas dinner. Fruity and ripe, but with some complexity as well. A touch of licorice, dark fruit, smooth tannins. Tasty stuff.

Spectacular blended red. Very dark color. Flavors of red and black fruits with hints of pencil lead. Fruits stayed through a long fairly clean finish. Would clearly purchase again.

A flawed bottle may be affected by cork taint, heat (maderized), oxidation, or excessive sulfur. Additionally, some people consider wines tainted by Brettanomyces (Brett), a non-spore forming genus of yeast, a flaw although there is much controversy surrounding the subject.
