Farming a 24-acre vineyard on Mt. Veeder led Brian and Lori Nuss to introduce their own wine in the 1996 vintage. Never more than a few hundred cases of their Cab Franc-based proprietary blend ever get into distribution, and it has has become one of the insider favorites for those who enjoy mountain grown, intense wines that age beautifully. A nose of blackberry and cocoa showing the dominance of ripe Cabernet Franc. The palate gives off a lush smoothness bordering on chocolate, plum and red cherry. Nice acidity on the finish.

Smooth deep dark robust fruit filled red. Currant, coffee, earthy, plum, with excellent finish that is smooth.

Blend of 60% Cabernet Franc, 25% Cabernet Sauvignon and 15% Merlot. Nice sweet aroma that has a strong green pepper presence. The aroma smelled comfortable. On the palate, the wine is quite smooth, with a hint of green pepper, also sweet and just generally an enjoyable wine. There is this nice warmth to the wine as well, which further add to the 'comfortâ?� nature of this wine. I like how the Cabernet Franc is showing through here. Some coffee flavors as well. Not a complicated wine but has some nice decent depth. Nice finish that lingers in your mouth with a sweet coffee flavor.
