Full, bright yellow-gold. Discreet but ripe and rich nose offers apricot, marzipan and honey. Wonderfully plump, sweet and full, with uncommon depth and concentration to its flavors of soft ripe apricot, pineapple and spices. Offers an exhilarating combination of silky texture and sheer intensity. The nectar-like, rot-ennobled finishing flavors stain the palate and go on and on. This should evolve in bottle for three or four decades.

Cat fur on the nose, very sweet and round and pretty heavy. Lots there! Creamy and voluptuous with quite a tight finish. But waves of different crème caramel flavours on the finish too. Another dimension here!

What a wine for the vintage, with spices and furniture wax undertones, then dried citrus fruit. Great intensity in this, powerful stuff. Perhaps the best 2005.

Rich, unctuous, and luxurious. Big Sauternes showing beautiful development. Bronzing yellow color. Very transparent yet syrupy & viscous. Aromas of spiced apple pie, pineapple syrup, and honey. Great balance. Wouldn't mind more acid to elevate it a bit. Unfurled, but I think it will live for a long time.

A flawed bottle may be affected by cork taint, heat (maderized), oxidation, or excessive sulfur. Additionally, some people consider wines tainted by Brettanomyces (Brett), a non-spore forming genus of yeast, a flaw although there is much controversy surrounding the subject.
