Begins with very dark color, a loamy violet ripeness in the nose leading to beautifully polished mid-palate of black fruits, olives and cocoa. To me this is one of those can't miss established wines that gives so much satisfaction.

This is such a great wine for the value and every Robert Craig I've had always delivers. Notes of herbal freshness, chocolate and silky dark berry flavors. Complex finish but very satisfying. Had this before a 2004 Miriam to compare and the Robert Craig blew it away! Need to buy more!

Robert Craig Aroma: Dark berries and black cherry predominate, underlain with pure Napa Valley cassis and lovely notes of lavender, violets, anise and sweet spices. Flavors: A balanced entry of dark fruit and fine-grained tannin carries into the mid-palate, enlivened by more black currant liquer, violets and sweet spice box. Finish: Concentrated fruit flavors are bolstered by juicy tannins to create a complex, long-lived finish. General: A rich, multi-layered Cabernet that balances power with finesse. Wine Spectator Rich, intense and well-proportioned, with spicy currant, cedary oak, dried berry and black cherry flavors that are elegant and stylish, focused and persistent. Best from 2009 through 2014. Score: 89. -James Laube, July 31, 2008.

A flawed bottle may be affected by cork taint, heat (maderized), oxidation, or excessive sulfur. Additionally, some people consider wines tainted by Brettanomyces (Brett), a non-spore forming genus of yeast, a flaw although there is much controversy surrounding the subject.
