When Paul Hobbs founded his eponymous winery in 1991, he set out to produce small lot, hand-crafted, vineyard designate wines. He began with just three - one Chardonnay, one Pinot Noir and one Cabernet Sauvignon.

Classic RR Pinot, nothing mind blowing but very consistent and it was what I expected.

Drink Dates 2009-2015

delicious, but not for the faint hearted. Lots of dark fruit flavors--no bright cherry notes in this one---and with a solid tannic backbone. Finish goes on and on.

A flawed bottle may be affected by cork taint, heat (maderized), oxidation, or excessive sulfur. Additionally, some people consider wines tainted by Brettanomyces (Brett), a non-spore forming genus of yeast, a flaw although there is much controversy surrounding the subject.
