Short decant. Oak is on display, but a lot of concentrated, not over the top or out of balance fruit underneath. It isn't subtle, nor is an outright brute however. Clearly has very good potential to become a very good bottle in time that will make up in power and presence what it lacks in subtlety.

Decanted for two hours, drank over the following 2 or 3. Dense black/ruby with magenta rim. Plum and pepper on the nose initially, along with sweet dark fruit and something green -- roasted, or smoked herbs. Good nose improves over the course of the bottle. Sweetened coffee and blueberry, cherry and blackberry coming out on the palate. Gradually fills out, becoming fleshier and showing notes of smoke and spice. Needs a lot of time.
