Issue 206

From Celia Masyczek's newest project in the rocky Stags's Leap District from Gregory and Carol Lindstrom's Nicali Vineyard comes this rarity with production of only 325 cases..

The nose is exquisitely concentrated with bottomless coffee, licorice, currant and assorted rich black fruits. The palate layers in concentrated, polished black and blue fruits with chocolate, currant and stunning smoothness. The vineyard is comprised of four clones; 337, 4, 6 and 7.

Fantastic wine, very smooth. Give time to open up a bit before drinking.

Starting to open up- still needed a couple of hours, but definitely more approachable that it was back in Sept. 07

A flawed bottle may be affected by cork taint, heat (maderized), oxidation, or excessive sulfur. Additionally, some people consider wines tainted by Brettanomyces (Brett), a non-spore forming genus of yeast, a flaw although there is much controversy surrounding the subject.
