2005 Goldeneye - Pinot Noir Pinot Noir - USA - California - Mendocino - Anderson Valley - Red

Solid Pinot; however, was expecting more from it. Might be past due

Garnet in color. Medium rim variation. Slow legs. Raspberry, Red Currant. Nutmeg, Light toast, Light toast. Medium/Full bodied. Angular texture.

Was not the crowd favorite but this was a powerful, Cali-style Pinot with big sour cherry and earthy flavors that were very forward. Light in color but a big wine with lots of earth. Tannins may have been a little harsh, but still delicious (to me).

Great nose, and good finish.

Explosive strawberry/raspberry melds with some barnyard. Not enough acid to carry the wine through the palate.

full colored pinot nicely balanced with a full mouth feel. Funky, cedar sea foam with a cherry/strawberry cola Nice wine but not at the price point I paid this drinks like a $25 bottle

Ruby in color. Black currant (cassis). Medium/Full bodied. Smooth texture. Medium finish. Not a traditional pinot. Was served at the Congressional luncheon after the inauguration of President Obama.
