2005 Gloria Bordeaux Blend - France - Bordeaux - St Julien - Red
While this only hinted at bordeaux typicity, I could tell it's a solid, well-made wine that shows many of this stellar vintage's best attributes. It was big, modern-styled, balanced, dark-fruited and full on the palate, with a long, long finish. And, at the tender age of 7, it was ready to drink, and will only improve with additional bottle time. Give it another three to five years and watch the magic happen.

One of my favorite St. Juliens for the price point. Delivers dark berries, a hint of oak and very smooth tannins. Long finish. Drinking nicely right now.

Nice ruby red color. Strong earthy odor at first but fades after a few minutes. Strong full tastes of cassis and chocolate. A nice wine but not sure it is worth the price.
A flawed bottle may be affected by cork taint, heat (maderized), oxidation, or excessive sulfur. Additionally, some people consider wines tainted by Brettanomyces (Brett), a non-spore forming genus of yeast, a flaw although there is much controversy surrounding the subject.
