Producer Notes

One of the medium- to smaller-sized left bank estates, Chateau le Boscq is located in St. Estephe and produces approximately 11,000 cases of wine from 16.6 ha of vineyards. The vineyards are composed of 40% Merlot, 30% Cabernet Sauvignon, 20% Cabernet Franc, and 10% Petite Verdot. Chateau le Boscq is owned by the same group that owns Chateau Belgrave (Haut Medoc). Strange coffee aromas in the glass, but smooth and soft once you drink it. A pretty good deal for $21.

A flawed bottle may be affected by cork taint, heat (maderized), oxidation, or excessive sulfur. Additionally, some people consider wines tainted by Brettanomyces (Brett), a non-spore forming genus of yeast, a flaw although there is much controversy surrounding the subject.
