It's been some time since I've checked in on this wine. It just keeps getting better. This is a fantastic pinot noir with excellent power, finesse, and balance all at the same time.

Nice, but very muted. Dark color, but lean fruit...maybe in a funny state...have enjoyed this wine many times...tonight was just okay.

Plenty of like left in this our last bottle of 05! Full of silky strawberry, cherry, a herbal/minty earthiness was detected in the nose, SS absolutely requires patience, we don't touch ours for 2-3 years from when we get our hands on them!

Ouch! My wine cooler's sensor went bad and these bottles froze! I put them in the fridge to allow slow defrosting and i drank them after a few days. The superb quality was still there! Luscious, lots of fruit but with an outstanding complexity, a beautioful aroma and a long, nice finish. I wonder whether the freezing did actually any damage...

drinking very well now; a complex bend of rapberries, cherries and spice with lots of "zing". quiets down with some time in the glass and shows a long sweet finish.

Overly hot, off-balance, a little bitter on the finish. Not great. Signs of good, concentrated pinot fruit and not as much wood as I would have expected. An ok bottle at this point in its evolution, but not out of the ordinary.

This is the 5th time I've enjoyed this bottle, which should speak volumes as to the pleasure it consistently gives me. Just as I remember, exhibiting a myriad of rich, lavish red and blue fruits in subtly detailed arrays. Palate coating and full of depth that manages to maintain a beautifully plush sense of proportion. Easy to love.

A flawed bottle may be affected by cork taint, heat (maderized), oxidation, or excessive sulfur. Additionally, some people consider wines tainted by Brettanomyces (Brett), a non-spore forming genus of yeast, a flaw although there is much controversy surrounding the subject.
