Winemaker Robert Foley began his winemaking career in 1977, working at Heitz Winery before becoming founding winemaker at Markham, where he developed the style of Merlot that helped make the variety a mega-trend in the 1980s. Shows a concentrated, sweet, nectar like nose of berry, currant and licorice. The palate is very extracted and rich with seamless balance of sweet, round fruit and solid acid profile.
