Really nice surprise. Fairly deep flavors, dark color and unmistakably Bordeaux. An interesting gritty quality as well with plenty of tannin left. This could go until at least 2020 but it's drinking well now. At $14 a few years back, I wish I had bought more than 2.

This is drinking perfectly nice, nice acidity and warm forest fruits with a nice finish. Much better than when I tasted it a year ago !

Drink Dates 2010-2020

Young, with strong tannins typical of the 2005 vintage. The Cabernet is almost over powering, yet only 20% of the blend. 60 minute decanting yielded a much more approachable bouquet of earth and cedar shavings. Purple, inkish color and very viscous mouthfeel. Taste of rosemary and herbs with a hint of sweet raspberries. Short but powerful finish. An excellent value at $25.

A flawed bottle may be affected by cork taint, heat (maderized), oxidation, or excessive sulfur. Additionally, some people consider wines tainted by Brettanomyces (Brett), a non-spore forming genus of yeast, a flaw although there is much controversy surrounding the subject.
