This wines pours a dark and correct dusty ruby with slight brick at the edges. Nose is dried cherries and strawberries, wood shavings, and graphite. Flavor is the same as the nose with some solid tannins and great elegance. exactly what a napa cab should be.

Balanced from the nose to the palette, to the finish. No disappointments. Decanted for only 30 minutes...a great wine expressing Stag's Leap terroir. Dark currents, blackberries, and minerals with hints of cocoa and vanilla on the finish...really good stuff here.

very good value for such quality wine, great core of fruit, good balance and suave and fine tannins. Its delicios now and will only improve with time.

We drank this with pork tenderloin and a black currant / cabernet reduction sauce on 11/15/09. After an hour decanting it had a very sweet bouquet of cassis, black cherry, licorice, spice, oak and vanilla aromas. The palate was balanced with prickly tannins and flavors of cassis, black cherry, spice, vanilla and toasty oak (including a little charcoal). After 2 hours, it had smoothed out considerably and sour cherry had become very pronounced.
