Superripe Pinot with loads of rich fruit. Not a lot of Backbone for aging purposes, but what Cali Pinot does. Built to enjoy now. Lush and delicious!!!

We had my second and last bottle of this with Teriyaki Salmon on 10/19/08. It had aromas of raspberry (very strong), cherry, mushroom, vanilla & forest floor. The palate followed with raspberry, cherry, mushroom and vanilla flavors. It had more earthy notes than I remembered from the last bottle and was loaded in raspberries. It was very smooth and had a pleasant mouth feel. It was also pretty dry.

Purchased case 1/08 from JJ Buckley. (003000). Have had several bottles now. A very lovely expression of Carneros Pinot Noir. Richer and softer than Burgundy, but still a beautiful wine.

A flawed bottle may be affected by cork taint, heat (maderized), oxidation, or excessive sulfur. Additionally, some people consider wines tainted by Brettanomyces (Brett), a non-spore forming genus of yeast, a flaw although there is much controversy surrounding the subject.
