The Grasso family has been producing wine since 1927, but Federico Grasso only started bottling in 1980, and has "produced a bevy of sensational efforts over recent vintages." Enjoyable. Nice aromas and fruit, though the tannins are a little on the chewy side at the moment. Would probably benefit from another couple of years in the bottle. Had it with a nice grilled porterhouse and arugula & EVOO salad and it made for an extremely nice meal.

A flawed bottle may be affected by cork taint, heat (maderized), oxidation, or excessive sulfur. Additionally, some people consider wines tainted by Brettanomyces (Brett), a non-spore forming genus of yeast, a flaw although there is much controversy surrounding the subject.
