2004 Numanthia - Termes Tempranillo - Spain - Castilla y Leon - Toro - Red

Termes keeps getting better. This $20 gem is a crowd pleaser. Deep jammy, berry notes with a hint of smoke on the backend. Tannins are holding together well. A bottle for at least another 5 years. 10 more bottles in the cellar.

I preferred this just open and at cellar temperature tonight. Took on some heat and a stewed fruit component with about 4 hours air time. 2 of my friends preferred this to a great Napa Cab at $60...I did not.

A monster of hot stewy fruit and heavy gripping tannins. After a full minute of attack, these flavors give way to coffee/chocolate/cinnamon. Put this wine down for another few years.

Deep purple with a wild nose of varied fruit and spice. Smooth on the palate. Probably would be even better with food.
