Producer Notes

Regarded as one of the top sites in the Santa Barbara region for Rhone varieties, the 220 acres were planted in 1992 and provide Stolpman-designated fruit to many respected producers in the region. The Estate program is directed by winemaker Sashi Moorman, who produces such iconic wines as L'Avion, La Croce, Hilltops and Angeli.

A brilliant magenta in color with aromas of chocolate, cherry, soy, smoky black fruit with hints of lavender and vanilla pod. Solid ripe palate with flavors of round cherry, tar, mineral and blackberry liqueur richness. Round tannins soften the alcohol some. For those who love extracted ripe value wines, the Stolpman brand is excellent.

Drink Dates 2012-2018

Delicious. Full-bodied with ripe, concentrated blackberry, black raspberry and black cherry fruit. Followed by flavors of creme de cassis with menthol accents adding to the complexity. Unctuous texture on the palate with great depth. A long, delicious, mouthwatering and satisfying finish.

Dark, rich and plump nose of blackberry jam, cassis, tar, smoke and grease. Flavors of dark fruit, espresso, leather and bitter chocolate. Silky mouthfeel with soft tannins. Medium long finish which comes up a little short on delivering complexity. It is dark and mysterious, with lots of smoke, blackberry, silky tannins and a luscious texture but slightly one-dimensional.
