This wine was really tight when opened, but I decanted for two hours. Fleshed out nicely. Aromas of currant, fig and a little tar. Well balanced with smooth tannins. A very good Barolo but at WS94 slightly overrated.

Very nice. Amazing nose, but a little tight at this point -- should still be on the upswing, age-wise.

A flawed bottle may be affected by cork taint, heat (maderized), oxidation, or excessive sulfur. Additionally, some people consider wines tainted by Brettanomyces (Brett), a non-spore forming genus of yeast, a flaw although there is much controversy surrounding the subject.
