Disappointing. Flat. Should have been way better. Shared with Anna, Michael, and Deb with fresh fish.

Typical Stag's Leap area, plush tannin, lots, but not loads of fruit. Easy drinking Cab that held up nicely to beef. Tastes of black fruit early with a little oak thrown in.

Decanted for 30 minutes. Very oaky at first, with a green (not in a good way) mid-palette attack. It got a little better over the course of the evening, with some decent Stag's Leap fruit hidden under the wood, but you had to look for it. Ultimately, it was disappointing and certainly not worth retail.

A flawed bottle may be affected by cork taint, heat (maderized), oxidation, or excessive sulfur. Additionally, some people consider wines tainted by Brettanomyces (Brett), a non-spore forming genus of yeast, a flaw although there is much controversy surrounding the subject.
