Showing some age but, still delightful. Mild cherry/cedar nose with soft tannins and fruit beginning to diminish. Lingering finish.

One year after my last comment (9/25) and this baby is still going strong, beautiful Burgundy and ruby colors, earthy and some spice aromas, mulled cherries and plums, delicious! Flavors still resound cherry, a touch of spice, pomegranate reduction...silky smooth entry and finish, not weight, not overly done, just right. This is in a window right now where a Burgundy fan would find a lot to like. Has another 3 years easy, adding 2 to my last assessment.

This wine is drinking great! I don't think it will get better, yet, probably good for another year at least. Very balanced, and only after 1 hour after opening the bottle, it was excellent and ready for prime time.

A flawed bottle may be affected by cork taint, heat (maderized), oxidation, or excessive sulfur. Additionally, some people consider wines tainted by Brettanomyces (Brett), a non-spore forming genus of yeast, a flaw although there is much controversy surrounding the subject.
