Drinking perfectly, just starting to mature, powerful but smooth tannins, great core of red fruits of red currant, blackcherry also chocolate and hint of vanilla toasty oak.

Dark blood red core, the color continues to the rim with little change and the wine is completely opaque. The nose exhibits plenty of cassis and blackberry with hints of oak and overripe plums, it also has a slightly smokey character begging to peak through its dense fruit core. On the palate it hits you with sweetness at first which soon gives way to a seamless array of ripe dark berry fruit. Full bodied, and concentrated with elegant tannins and balanced acidity. Very well balanced wine at this point of its life, the finish carries on for a good 25 seconds, glycerol is high here which leads to a velvety mouthfeel. Excellent

Deep garnet red, bricking at edges showing age. In nose classic Cab, cassis, tabacco black fruit not to ripe, nice. Some vegetative notes at the beginning are overpowered by the fruit. In mouth well balanced but not long. Drink now.

From memory. The tannins and acidity were noticeably softer than the last bottle of this I consumed, but the wine showed the dark cherry with a suggestion of cinnamon I have found common to this vintage bottling. Starting to go over the hill, and I don't think more bottle time will help. Still a highly enjoyable bottle of wine, though. Drink up by end of 2013.

Dark blood color showing no signs of age, in fact it was still pretty tight on entry so I gave it a day to decant. Second night it was showing more signs of life but it still was mostly one dimensional with cherry notes, some richness, and restrained finish. The '05 was much better IMO

A flawed bottle may be affected by cork taint, heat (maderized), oxidation, or excessive sulfur. Additionally, some people consider wines tainted by Brettanomyces (Brett), a non-spore forming genus of yeast, a flaw although there is much controversy surrounding the subject.
