Very dark, very opaque, a lot or different aromas (tobacco, coffee?), very different than other 2004 we tasted. It is also fruity (red) and has a bit of very pleasant acidity, medium bodied and some nice tannins which need another year in bottle.
Not up to par from its predecessor (2003), but no slouch either. Yet another candidate for the pure fruit category, almost reminiscent of a ripe rendition of Spanish Grenache. Fig, raspberry jam, and cassis flavors are well shaped, but without the depth and complexity of this estate?s best efforts
