Shows the ripe fruitiness of the vintage, framed by pleasantly funky brett and an iron undertow. This is one of the few bordeaux I've had that taste like a bordeaux. Not for everyone, but should please fans of the Old World style. Good value for the price. Drink now through 2016.

Dark ruby with a pinkish rim. The nose is bloody and iron-rich with tobacco, wet flint and a hint of tomato. Quite youthful with grippy tannins, concentrated blackcurrant fruit and spicy cedar. The most youthful wine of the day.

Loads of blackberry and licorice with hints of meat and smoked oak. Full-bodied, with velvety tannins and lots of very ripe and exotic fruit. Very exotic and wild. Rich finish. Best after 2009.

A flawed bottle may be affected by cork taint, heat (maderized), oxidation, or excessive sulfur. Additionally, some people consider wines tainted by Brettanomyces (Brett), a non-spore forming genus of yeast, a flaw although there is much controversy surrounding the subject.
