Great QPR for Bordeaux, Cos d'Estournel pedigree shows. This grew more intense with about 2 hours open in bottle, decant may shorten the time but this is what worked for us
Color: Dark core with velvety red edges, still very youtful
Nose: Starting to show secondary age aromas, toasty oak, roasted coffee, black currants, spice a touch meaty/savory
Palate: The acidity and tannin stand out the most, though somewhat supple, the tannins are still most noticeable in the palate experience over other factors. Not perfectly balanced but quite nice nonetheless. Black cherry, cassis, pepper, herbal currants, even a hint of licorice.
Great with braised short ribs!
